Exercise Essentials is a relatively simple guide to getting fit and staying that way. It’s written by Billy Goco Jr, a certified personal trainer.
You don’t have to be a gym nut to follow this manual; it’s geared towards the beginner. The first stages of the book explain the best practise habits you’ll need to follow if you want to get the best results.
It also explains the potential pitfalls that may arise, and how to overcome them. You’ll also find workout terminology, plus information on the muscular and skeletal systems.
There’s also a workout program to help you get started. Or if you’re more seasoned, you may find the workout program useful to jump straight into.
The information is presented clearly, with the use tables and pictures where appropriate. However, at times the information lacks character and reads like any Wikipedia article.
The author interjects some humor here and there, but I think the work could benefit from more of a distinct personality, so as to separate it from the competition.
If the author takes that informal approach to the content, I’d find the information easier to digest.
The presentation is decent, and the work was largely free of errors.
This is just one opinion. If you’ve read the book, why not leave your own rating below?
